Betty, Blanche and Beulah are looking forward to this Friday and are sorry they have not kept in touch more frequently.  This Friday we’ll visit TWO nature trails in Marquette County.  One is on Buffalo Lake and one is on Puckaway Lake.  Did you know that the first name of the lake is Apuckawa?  That’s an Indian word and the trail we will visit there is at the Apuckawa Boat Landing. Hi. I’m Kathleen McGwin and I’m so excited that I’ll be meeting you this Friday and we’ll be talking about the very earliest history of Marquette County.   I’ll have with me our special guides, Betty, Beulah and Blanche.  They are all Registered Therapy Dogs and they love 4th graders. Trees and now the Marquette County Courthouse

We learned about deciduous trees and coniferous trees.    Which ones have needles?  Which ones have their leaves fall off in autumn?   What tree is a trickster because it has needles and cones but loses the needles in fall? We also got to see a video that Mr. Sullivan found for us that showed students in Northern Wisconsin making pine marten houses.
