Marquette County Wisconsin has declared 2010 the Year of John Muir. There will be an exhibit in J. P. Vaughn Hall in Montello as well as activities throughout the year. Marquette County is the boyhood home of John Muir. Watch this site for discussions and information about the Year of John Muir.

Colic root flowerSpotted these interesting plants on a back road in Marquette County. I had never seen them before. Identified them as Colic Root, so named because the root was used to treat colic in babies.  Colic root in field
