Thank you Mr. Sullivan for teaching us about trees and pine martens.

Thank you Mr. Sullivan for teaching us about trees and pine martens.

We learned about deciduous trees and coniferous trees.    Which ones have needles?  Which ones have their leaves fall off in autumn?   What tree is a trickster because it has needles and cones but loses the needles in fall?

We also got to see a video that Mr. Sullivan found for us that showed students in Northern Wisconsin making pine marten houses.

Trees give us many important things. They clean the air and soil, they give us shade and lumber and paper and they add beauty to our world.

And there will be other special people that we’ll meet.    Betty, Blanche, Beulah and I will see you at the courthouse!

This is the first courthouse in Marquette County in Montello. It's no longer there. This photo was taken after a fire in 1899. People tried to save the old courthouse because of its historic value, but it was torn down.
